Getting started
You don’t need an account to begin — open the app and write your first little line. A single sentence a day is the whole idea: a thing they said, a face they made, a first.
Writing a memory
- Write or dictate — type it, or tap the mic and just say it.
- Add a photo when it helps. Portrait and landscape photos keep their natural shape.
- Thirty seconds and you’re done — no long entries, no blank page to fill.
Reminders & notifications
Set a gentle reminder at a time that fits your day from Settings in the app. Reminders only arrive if you’ve allowed notifications for One Little Line on your device — you can turn this on or off any time in your device settings.
Finding your memories
- Search any day, month, year, or a keyword.
- Tags — add your own, and smart AI tags help sort milestones, firsts, and laughter so you can filter fast.
- “On this day” brings back what you wrote a year ago.
- Read it like a journal, all at once — or one memory at a time.
Monthly letters
Each month, your little lines are gathered into a keepsake letter you can read, edit where the feature is enabled, and keep. You’ll find your letters in the app, in the Vault.
Care Circle — writing together
You can keep a child’s memories together with the people who love them. Invite your partner, a grandparent, or a co-parent to a child’s Care Circle — or join one you’re invited to.
- Owner & co-writers — the person who created a child’s profile is the owner and manages the circle, including who can write and removing co-writers.
- Everyone sees the child’s archive — all the memories, photos, and monthly letters for that child are shared with the circle.
- Your words are yours — each memory shows who wrote it (your signature, like Mom or Dad). You can edit or delete only the memories you wrote.
- Leaving or being removed — memories you wrote stay with the circle, still attributed to you.
- If you delete your account — you choose whether your memories stay (without your name) or are deleted. Ownership of a shared child passes to a remaining member so the archive is never lost.
We can’t mediate family disputes — the owner controls the profile and the circle. You’re responsible for whom you invite and what you add to a shared child.
More than one child
Keep all your children in one app. Switch between them from the top of the home screen, and write for each — or share only the child you choose with a Care Circle.
Your account & sign-in
You can start writing as a guest, with no account. To save your memories and sync them across devices — and to write together in a Care Circle — sign in with Apple or Google from Settings. Your guest memories carry over when you sign in.
Subscription & billing
One Little Line is free to start. A subscription keeps new memories and monthly letters going after your trial, billed through the App Store (or Google Play on Android).
- Manage or cancel any time — on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges.
- Restore purchases — on a new phone or after reinstalling, sign in with the same Apple or Google account and your subscription restores. If it doesn’t, use Restore Purchases in the app’s settings.
- After the trial — your archive may pause under the current product rules if a subscription isn’t active, but your words always stay yours to read and export.
Export & delete
Your words are always yours. Export your memories any time from the app to keep a copy wherever you like. You can also delete individual memories, or your whole account, from Settings — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what happens to your data.
Something not working?
- Reminders not arriving? Check that notifications are allowed for One Little Line in your device settings, and that a reminder time is set in the app.
- Can’t sign in, or a purchase didn’t go through? Try Restore Purchases, then reach out and we’ll sort it.
- Anything else — email hello@onelittleline.com with what happened (and your device model if it’s a bug), and we’ll help.
Privacy & terms
Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. One Little Line is made in the EU, and your memories are private by default.
